EGYPTIAN HATS

ROMAN/GREEK

MEDIEVAL

Choosing the correct hat style for the correct time frame is important. Hopefully you will find a hat style in the following chart. Simple how to instructions are listed under each picture.

EGYPTIAN

Pharoah

Striped fabric with a symbol attached to the front forehead. A little more drape length in the
front would be good.

Pharoah or Queen

This actually could be done with a braid wig. Easy and efficient.

Queen

Use a stiff fabric or attach a stiff fabric to your decorative fabric. Then attach symbols.

Pharoah or Queen

This one could be achieved by making a base to attach to a braid wig. Glue beads onto the
base. Attach symbols.

ROMAN/GREEK

Roman Helmet-Upper

Picture from a tapestry in the Vatican. It would be difficult for you to create this from scratch. Buy a Roman Helmet base at a costume store and embellish it with paint and
feathers.
Roman Helmet

Picture from a tapestry in the Vatican. Probably good for the metal workers and casters to make this one. The only way to fake this would be to follow the previous example and add a mask. Cover to match helmet.
Roman Noble

Roman Headdress on a Marble statue in the Vatican. Make two separate pieces and sew
together. Make sure to insert a stiff fabric. Cover.
Greek Noble

Greek Headdress. Use a
buckram base, wire, cover
and attach a veil. You can
find lots of metal head circlets on-line with this arch to it. Then attach a veil.
